Newbie SangReal Posted June 7, 2005 Newbie Report Share Posted June 7, 2005 I have been married for a year. My husband and I enjoy our fair share of sex toys, oral sex, etc. However, sexual intercourse is unbelievably painful for me. This pain is caused by a condition called vaginismus, an involuntary contraction of the PC muscles (yes, the ones you strengthen for Kegels). It really hurts. I cry, and then I bleed afterwards, even if he pulls out right away. We have had successful (non-painful) intercourse about three times that I can remember. We did not have sex until we were married.I've been instructed by my doctor to buy vaginal dilators at a local sex shop. Basically, dilators are made of plastic and are kind of penis-shaped, but start out kind of small (less than an inch in diameter) and get larger. But none of the shops around here seem to have them. I mean, it's one thing to walk into a sex store and pick up something, then check out. It's another thing entirely to discuss (in detail!!!) what a vaginal dilator is and why I need it, only to be rejected. Do you know where I can find vaginal dilators on the internet? A regular dildo won't work. Those are mostly VERY large, and largeness seems to be the problem.Advice?Mary
Newbie shedragon666 Posted June 7, 2005 Newbie Report Share Posted June 7, 2005 Are there any sex therapists in your area? They are trained professionals who deal with cases like yours all the time. Vaginismus is relatively common and not that difficult to treat. If nothing else, they may be able to get you the dialators you need. Hope this helps.
