I was excited to receive waterproof, vibrating ben wa balls to review, because I had always been curious about ben wa balls, and wanted some sex toys for bathtub use. Being new to the concept of this toy, I hoped for instructions inside the box. Alas, there were none. So, like any modern gal, I turned to Wikipedia.

According to Wikipedia, “Ben Wa balls are small, marble-sized metal balls, usually hollow and containing a small weight that rolls around…They are used by inserting them into the vagina or anus and removing them at varying speeds in order to create stimulation.”

People with a basic understanding of things like batteries might not have this worry, but for those of us who equate electricity with magic, we’re a little nervous about getting in the bathtub, submerging two battery-operated balls in the water, then sticking them up our most private parts. This brings to mind the kind of dumb ass obituary we want to avoid, right up there with people who tried to pet the polar bears at the zoo. But after gingerly holding the vibrating silver balls under some running water in the sink, I felt secure enough to take the plunge.

The balls are attached to the battery pack with an eighteen-inch cord. I definitely wasn’t going to put the batteries in the water, so one hand needs to be held out of the tub to keep the batteries safe. The balls were easy to insert vaginally, but their vibrations were more loud than thrilling. There are four speeds to choose from, and the faster ones sounded a bit like laughter as the balls knocked against each other inside me. It felt better to put one inside, and dangle the other over my clit.

It’s difficult to insert the balls anally without lube, which doesn’t work so well in the bathtub. But on land, I found the anal vibrations more stimulating but somewhat uncomfortable. Just a couple questions. What size were the balls, and what size batteries do they take? Do you think that they were actually loud, or did they "feel" loud inside you? Meaning, do you think someone on the other side of your bedroom door could hear them, even inserted?

Let me also stress, that doing ANYTHING anal, to use plenty of toy-safe lubrication! There is NO such thing as TOO MUCH lube when engaging in anal play. After all, who likes to get hurt, especially there?
