Melted Sex Toys!

Okay, my boyrfriend and I have a lot of sex toys! We keep them in a locked box in our bedroom because we have kids. (Try explaining that one to your 11 yr old! Ahh! It is a motorboat! I swear!) So anyway, we have found that some of the jelly like toys on a couple of our vibrators, cockrings and sleeves have reacted to one another and literaly begin to melt together and get ruined. Anyone have any similiar experiences? :o

Yes, actually, some of my jelly toys started getting indents from heat. Here in TX, it gets HOT!! And they're stored in a plastic box, with lid, under my vanity, but my room gets warm. I gotta invest in an AC soon!! Thankfully, none of my faves got destroyed. Toys should be stored in cool areas that are below 80 degrees F at all times. Cooler, if possible.

Try storing the toys that are made of jelly, in your freezer. Kids almost never get into them for any reason, and they won't know what those frozen things are, anyway. I don't know where you are storing things that it gets over 80 degrees, unless its in an non-air/conditioned room, or garage, but put the air on. Letting a bedroom get above 80 degrees requires a lot more BTUs to cool it down to a comfortable temperature for sleeping. Even a vented attic will keep a bedroom below 80 in 100 degree temps, if you don't let the room stay at the higher temps too many hours.

Ahh talk about getting cold cocked, "son, that is mom and dad's frozen cockcicle now put it back!"

I think some toys will do that if they made of certain materials and stored next to each other that do not mix. I had that happen once with a silicon toy and some other toy made up of another type of material. I think it a chemical reaction and I think Mikayla wrote something up on it. If not, she now has an idea on what to write about when she has memory block

We have also seen it with some of our thinner latex type toys. An A/C may have helped but with the athritis that is sinking into my bones I'd rather just replace the toys. Not only is it cheaper I really think it is much more sanitary as well. After a certain time period I think there are bound to be sanitary issues involved no matter how much they have been scrubbed. Just my opinion and possibly job security for the bossman!!

You can try putting a sheet in between the toys, as in, put the sheet in the box, and weave the sheet between the toys. I would not recommend storing any toy that has a battery in the freezer - it can ruin the mechanics of the toy. Dildos and dongs though -those make great frozen treats!

great ideas all! I keep them in a locked box under my bed and the melting has happened recently. Not over the summer when its hot as hell. I do think its some kind of chemical reaction with the jelly toys. I dont know about keeping a frozen cock in my freezer, cause if my kids dont find it my mother will and try explaining that to your mom! Well, at least my mom anyway...no thanks! I think she's have a heart attack on the spot! So I think Ill try the sheet between the toys. Ill use a bandana and then when I want to Ill have something to tie my honey up with! Heehehe! :D

Yeah, actually I knew about this problem from fishing. I used to go fishing with my dad all the time, so I had a tackle box full of assorted fake baits and such. Some of them melted together over the winter, and my dad told me that I had to keep the different kinds separated and even be careful what kind of tacklebox I used! So that translated to sex toys because some are made out of a similar jelly-like material.

Oh I forgot about that some plastics would melt certain other types of plastics

this also happens when you store silicone lube with silicone toys. You might find the impression of the bottle in the toy the next time you take it out for use. That has happened more than once at my house. I have learned my lesson, silicone toys are far too nice to waste for being careless!
