Members angelkisses98
this is the first time one of my cats messed outside their box. she got it half in and half out.my other cat got locked in the laundry room all day, and dident have a place to go, so she went on a towel. i couldnet get mad at her for that. the vinegar worked!! i poured it on...let it sit while we ran some errands, came home and the smell is gone. Members Mikayla1
This forum really DOES handle all things! The funny thing is, when I read 'kitty odor' I mistakenly thought of ANOTHER 'Kitty' - LOL
Members synirr
Huh, never thought of that. Urine is acidic so it makes perfect sense that vinegar would do the trick. I'll have to keep that in mind just incase, but my cats are very good about that thank goodness

Members Kinky Twinkie
Hi Mikayla~My first thought, also! well I think there is a vinager and water solution for that kitty as well via Massengill. Regardless what kitty has the smell, we have recommendations for it as well.Glenn
Members Shariana
if you don't have weak lungs like me, pine sol. do a 50 50 mix... or even a 75 25 if it is REALLY bad....They make cleaners specifically for urine stains and odors. Try a local pet store or "feed and grain" (like a back country farmish store).

Try a local pet store or "feed and grain" (like a back country farmish store).I bought a gallon size of Natures Miricle yesterday at pet smart, it was about $20( cheaper on the internet at about $13). The vet recommened it and I saw it on a review as one of the top 5 best products. I read through testimonals and many on petsmart seemed to be happy with it but other were not. Of course it depends on the mess one dealing with and how they used the stuff. Some people said it didnt work for them but they also said they didnt exactly follow the directions(??????).So I going to try it today, I going to really saturate the area. The vet said once I pour it on the carpet to cover it with tin foil. Poke a few breathing holes in the foil. Cats hate foil so they stay away from the areaIt will take about two weels to dry according to their website and once dry it should not have any oder. If there is then it didnt penetrate deep enough through the carpet. it recommened you pull up the carpet alittle to see how it looks underneath if possible. If a cat soils an area say 1 foot square on the the surface the underneath it should be double to triple that so keep that in mind. So I shall see but I need some tin foil first. Oh they say do not use with other detergents and suff because the enzymes need the wet enviroment to work and chemicals can render them suckers ineffective by killing them. Plus if you suck it up with a steamer it dosnt allow them the time to do their job. it also recommened not to use hot water since that makes the mess you cleaning up some how more permanant in the carpet fibers.
