Last night, my husband and I watched our first Sex Education for Adults DVD. I’d heard lots of good things about the Better Sex video series and was excited to see what they were about. Sinclair Intimacy Institute uses real couples in Volume 1: Advanced Sexual Techniques & Positions, an educational video about communication and love-making.

A film like this gets you thinking and hopefully gets you talking with your significant other (SO). It starts simple, teaching about different parts of the female and male anatomies, and trying to dispel any negative beliefs many people have about the body.

They move on to orgasms for both men and women, describing what they’re like and how they are/can be reached through communication with your SO. Foreplay, oral sex, erotic talk, erotic massage and sexual positions are also discussed, all with actual real-life couples being intimate in front of cameras to demonstrate the different techniques.

There are tons of special features, including talks with the “actors,” behind the scenes of how and why SII created this series, sex health info and laughs at the Better Sex Comedy Club!

It’s not porn, so don’t expect to get all hot & bothered while you watch it. There ARE explicit sex scenes between people who obviously love one another, though, so it could happen! Instead, you might (as we did) catch yourself saying to your mate, “We do that!” or “I’d like it if you did that.” Maybe you’ll even learn a few tricks to try afterward and get all hot and bothered then! I know we did!

Howard, thanks for your comments. :) Just to clarify, however, I didn't state that my husband and I got horny from watching this film. I stated that folks could use the information they learned from the film to get intimate with their SOs afterward. We took several bits of information that we'd learned/been refreshed with from watching the film and used them in our love making later that evening.

While we watched this DVD, my husband and I were holding hands and talking with each other (in regards to the film: what we agreed we liked, what we didn't know, etc.). I wasn't turned-on by watching the film, because I was looking at it as an instructional video -- something I could learn from to use later in pleasuring my husband and myself. I thought it super sweet that the couples were real life couples and I loved seeing how different viewing their experiences were in comparison to viewing porn and also hearing the interviews with them before and after.

I stated that there is nudity and sexual acts, so of course there's a chance anyone could get worked up from it. I just didn't, though, again, because I was viewing it as educational and not porn.
