  1. Thank you all so much for your input. I feel much better now, especially knowing that the manufacturer can put the lubricant on the toy to keep it from sticking. I have learned something new today(Crap! My brain just exploded!). I never once thought that TT would resell a used item, as I have read their policies about used/returned toys and throwing them away. I just wasn't sure how the procedure went when the toy got sent back to them, if they were immediately thrown away, or maybe put in a box or something to be thrown away later. Now, I know there is a proper procedure for handling this(thank you, Meg) and I don't have to worry about a used item possibly being accidentally sent to me. And, NO, I do not think that TT would ever do it on purpose, and I hope no one thought I was saying that. I was just wondering if a used toy could accidentally get sent to someone. Now I know better, and I have no problems with washing the toy and using it. And, I always wash my toys before and after use. I do use a Feminine Wash soap vs. an antibacterial soap, as I tend to be a bit sensitive to regular soap in that area. I hope the Feminine Wash is okay to use on the toys. Again, thank you all so much for answering my questions so quickly and for helping me to understand TT's disposal procedure a bit better, as well as how the toy manufacturers package items.
  2. Melanie, As the AVERAGE(remember, every person is different) man is about 6" long when erect, a woman's vagina will elongate to about 6" long when aroused, too. Also, the vagina widen when aroused, just as a man's penis will widen when erect. So, like others have said, take your time, and only go as far as is comfortable for you. As a former OB nurse, I would worry more about girth causing damage to the vagina vs. length(that might just hurt a bit from hitting the cervix, as it then jars other various female internal organs). The reason I say this is due to a little emergency our L & D dept. ended up having to deal with on the evening shift after all the OR personnel were at home and just on-call. We had our own OR's for our C-sections, etc., however, we were not supposed to do other surgeries, as we were considered a "clean" unit, and our OR's were reserved just for our patients. One night, though, we got an emergent phone call from the ER and one of our house OB docs asking if we could make an exception and use our OR for one of their patients, which with Supervisor approval, we did. You see, a husband and wife came in to the ER with the wife having a vaginal wall laceration and in the process of hemorrhaging to death. MAJOR EMERGENCY!!!, needless to say. Hubby swore up and down that no toys were involved, he just used his hands and penis(hmmm...how were they used exactly to cause such an injury?? Ok, we didn't ask that.). Well, we(general OB staff, I wasn't her nurse as I had other patients) got her up to the OR and prepped in record time, and she got all stitched up nice and pretty and ceased to bleed to death. Whew! So, that's my big story on being careful with girth, or your hands/penis(gentlemen). As I didn't get to see hubby, I still wonder how big were his hands, his feet and his...??
  3. Pinky, the outside package wasn't sealed, nor was there any type of descriptive card in the package, such as the one that shows and says what toy it is, what batteries are needed, the name of the company making the product, etc. I also noticed that the package was really greasy in the areas where the stimulation parts hit the package, but not elsewhere, even though there were other jelly parts touching the packaging. I have never had a problem with TT, either, and I've been buying a few things from them for almost 2 years now. This is a jelly type toy, but the oily areas were specific to the stim. areas, and no other parts of the toy were oily, even though they were jelly, too. I'm just not sure what to do in this situation, as it seems the areas used for stimulation were specifically oily as compared to the rest of the toy. P.S. It also had a fruity smell to the oil, as opposed to a "plastic" smell. I had actually removed the toy from the package by the G Spot Stim area, so I ended up with the oil/lube on my hand and it had a distinct feel of oiliness to it, as well as the smell. I also had a couple other jelly/plastic toys that arrived in the same box, and they were all fine.
  4. I just received mine today, and I took it out of the package to wash it. It felt and smelled like it had lube on the G spot and Clitoral stimulation areas. The rest of the toy was fine. Those areas had a greasy feel to them, and sort of a fruity smell. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm not even touching again until I know this is ok, or this is how the toy comes. If it's not supposed to be this way, and a return accidentally got sent to me, let me know, and I'll send it back for an exchange. Thanks!!
  5. P.S. I've had a couple of the rabbit vibes, the Ultimate Rabbit Vibe(?) and another one(can't remember the name of it), and I had ABSOLUTELY NO problems with them, except for the battery compartment shattering on the hand controls of one of them, and then the motor burning out on the other one for the rotation part. Of course, I didn't realize that I could return them, so I threw them out. Duh! Not smart! They hadn't been used much and they both broke w/in about 3-6 mos. of me getting them. Live and learn!! And, for the new ones to this site, learn from me...READ THERE RETURN POLICY!! Lol.
  6. Thank you all for your great responses. I do believe I am going to try some silicone toys. Yes, I can use condoms, or like someone suggested, the nitrile gloves. I even keep those around the house to do housecleaning. Thanks also for mentioning about the TALC. I can bet that is what I'm reacting to, as I don't react to all plastic/rubbery type toys, just those 2 so far. I know I have had issues with talc(they put it in surgical gloves) since back when I practiced clinical nursing. My hands would itch and burn like crazy if I wore those things, and the hospitals didn't always want to pay for powder-free gloves, as at the time they were more expensive and there was less demand than in today's age with all of the latex allergies, etc. Hmmmmm...another interesting tidbit, and one which I wanted to explore...both toys that I reacted to were from California Exotic Novelties. I wonder if they put something on their toys, or have something on their equipment that I am already allergic to, and I'm just reacting to that(such as potato starch(I have anaphylactic reactions to Potatoes), which can be used as a talc type substance to get rid of stickiness. I may try some silicone and even other plastic-type toys, as like I said, I've only reacted to ones from that company, and try using a condom or glove with them. Thank you all SO MUCH for taking the time to respond to me and make suggestions. I really appreciate it, and I will certainly give them consideration. Kiki B. P.S. Yes, I can use Naturalamb or Trojan Polyurethane(?) condoms. It will seem a bit weird buying condoms since I've had a Hysterectomy...Lol.
  7. Thank you for the welcome, ToyQueen.
  8. Thank you, ToyQueen. I wasn't sure who I should talk to about the allergies and what the toys are made of, so thanks for the name. I'll give Meg a call. If I have gone to a full-blown(anaphylactic) Latex allergy, that would really, really SUCK!! I already have anaphylactic allergies to 3 other substances, I don't need any more. I am very careful with latex, though, as I know it wouldn't take much to push me into the full-blown allergy category, as I seem to be sensitive to a lot of things, as well as have multiple environmental plus some food allergies. But, it would be nice to find a toy here or there that I could use safely. I also need to make sure it's not something else that the manufacturer might put on the toy or in the packaging that I could be reacting to, as well. Thanks again for your suggestion to call Meg. Hopefully, she will have the answer and be able to point me in the right direction.
  9. Hi, Everyone! I'm Kiki. Actually, my real name is Kaylene, but I pretty much go by Kiki, and my hubby is Tom. I'm pretty sure I'll be the one posting, as I'm more outgoing than my other half, which is good. I can talk enough for both of us, and then some...Lol. I only have one other post so far in General Sex Toy Discussions, I think about what material I should look for in a vibrator, which I won't have an allergic reaction to. My last 2 tries at new vibes haven't been very successful...*sigh*.
  10. Hi, All, My real name is Kaylene, but my nickname is Kiki, which is pretty much what I go by. My hubby and I are pretty new to sex toys. We've just been buying a few of them over the last couple years and trying them out. However, I am having a problem. I have several allergies, including a contact sensitivity to Latex. I have now tried the Insatiable Rose and Lilac Lover Dual Action(just got that one). I had to return the I. R. and it looks like I'll have to return the LL, too. Upon using them, I experience intense burning. I thought I just had bad luck with the IR, but now it happened with the LL, too. I thought maybe it was the lube I used, as it wasn't the usual Too Timid Lube(awesome stuff, BTW). So, I went and re-washed the LL using my Feminine Wash for sensitive skin and thoroughly washed it, rinsed it and dried it well(the toys were washed with different soaps, so that wasn't the issue). Then, I lubed it up with TTL, and tried it again. The burning got worse, then I started with my chest getting tight and my lips(ones on my face ) swelled up, too. That ended that session mighty quick. I guess I am wondering how to tell exactly what it is I'm reacting to, and what toys would be safe for me to use without having to pick a toy out, buy it, try it out, then OOPS!, can't use that one, send it back and try for another. Especially as that is a waste for the company, too, as they have to throw the used toy away. I have tried 2 dual action rabbits without allergy issues, but I don't know exactly what they were made out of. It seemed to be a plastic/jelly type of material. The IR was DEFINITELY a jelly material, and the LL seemed to be a rubbery jelly type material. Does anyone know what might be a safe material for me to look for in a toy? My preference is dual-action with separate controls. I have Cushing's Disease, and due to the weight gain(all in the belly) from that, my stomach has gotten too fat for me to easily reach down and adjust controls attached to toy, and it's nice for hubby to be able to use the controls, too, when I let him...Lol. Thanks for any help you all might be able to give me.
