What Are You Telling Your Kids?

My parents acted like sex didn't exist. My kids are teenagers and are quite aware of things. we had the "biology" part of the talk years ago. They've taken all kinds of stuff in school and they talk about that with us. Sex is so much a part of our culture that I can't imagine pretending it doesn't exist with this generation. They are also old enough to have classmates who've gotten pregnant or gotten STDs and that has all been discussed. I've never told my kids that you have to be in love to have sex. That would be hypocritical of me. I tell them they have to absolutely trust the other person and that they should only do what they're comfortable with. I've also shown them where condoms are sold and told them that if they're too immature to walk in and buy them, them they're not ready for sex.
