The translucent red silicone sleeve has some very nice (and very useful) detailing. The sides are relatively smooth, with a bump or dip where the "petals" are, and the very tip has several little nubs (think the texture of a raspberry). All in all, rather pretty.Unfortunately I found that while the "multi-speed" dial works, it all feels like one speed to me. High. My nethers are a bit on the sensitive side, so it's not always bliss when a toy is on its highest setting. This, sadly, is one of those toys. It was actually painful to use the nubs on the tip. I'm very happy it had the smooth sides, though it was still a bit too much. I might see if it works better with the batteries run down a bit. Rose Bud operates on 4 button cell batteries (included), and claims to be waterproof. There is a small paper guide in the button compartment that shows you which direction the buttons go in, although it's pretty self explanatory. I have not yet tried the waterproof part, since I find the waterproof vibes I have tend to sound like motorboats once I get them in the tub. Speaking of noise, this vibe is not exactly quiet. Luckily, I was home alone when I tried this one out. Sorry to say, but this one is nicer for me to look at than it is to use.
