Hello all! I've been out of pocket for a while - life has taken a turn.... Yesterday I walked out of my job. I've been extremely unhappy with my career and work for the last 8 years. When I started this new job in Feb, I did it for one reason only - to placate my husband. I didn't want the job - and I wanted to get out of IT - but thought I'd try. Well - I've had a hard time there - finding out I'm not really consultant material. I'm not good at playing the games you need to play when you're in sales. So - when I was told again yesterday morning that I came across as too pushy when I answered a question - something snapped. My tone apparently was too authoritative - even though it was in my area of expertise. I had had enough and decided to walk. I gave up a 90K/year job - to pursue something else. I've got savings I'll tap into - because we can't live on his salary - but I'm willing to do so. Hubby thinks I've been selfish and have betrayed him - he's not talking to me - or when he does he's calling me stupid and telling me how I've ruined our lives. So it's hard to stay positive - but I'm trying.... So - I'll be around ...

Bunny - first of all - welcome and congratulations in taking the first step in what I hope will be a wonderful journey of personal growth for you. I was also raised like you in the Baptist traditions - and I do had this very same experience after being newly married. In fact - reading your post gave me chills - I swear that could have been me. Mikayla and IHA are two of the best people on here to help you find your way - and I can't add to anything they've already said/asked. I just wanted you to know that you're not alone - others have and probably are/will go through this. Persevere and you will be surprised by what you'll find. I only wish there had been a place like this for me at the time - but then - the www wasn't even born yet (yea - I'm older than dirt). So, I asked my obgyn this very question earlier today (had my yearly with her). Apparently hormones are partly to blame for this phenom - and some women do "lose it" as quickly and as abruptly as it started. Hormones are powerful things and mind over matter doesn't always succeed - i.e. just because I want to always feel like this and keep sexually active, hormones may prevent me from dong so at any time in the future. Not exactly what I wanted to hear. However, she said that a woman now has the same options as a man as far as treatments for low libido. So she stressed that anyone suddenly losing it should talk to their doctor about options. She said "a healthy sex life is too important to overall health to just give up on it". She made a note in my chart to discuss next time as well - so she can help me determine if I still have "it" or not (she's a great doctor!). So - just fyi....

Pinky - ME TOO! but I think IHA is right - and once, just once - I got into that trance, but couldn't sustain it.
