When I was little and I lived in Cali every year my Cousin Bob and my dad would pile all the kids into the car and we'd go driving around the really really rich neighborhoods and look at lights there was always one house witha guy dressed up as santa who knew what your favorite flavor of dumdum pop was. I still haven't quite figured this out yet, i assume they called ahead but i dunno. Then, before my nana died, everyone gathered at her house and we had teh family christamas party. Which usually ended in a fight. Oh you gotta love family holidays!

This Christmas I'm having soooo much fun giving. My family isn't doing Christmas until 1/4 because my husband works out of town so we're waiting for him, so I'm not doing our shopping until 12/26 when they put everything on sale. But this is the first year we can afford to give to others, so for thanksgiving I bought groceries for a foodbank and then I found a tree for the womens and childrens center and got a tag, and bought a little boy some toys. And then I got a bag of toys for toys for tots. And some pj's and bears for the Ronald McDonald house.

When I was a kid, we got help from those agencies so it feels extra good to give back to the same ones that helped us now that I can, maybe someday those kids will grow up and pass it on too.

Pay it forward....... It really does feel better to give than to receive.

OMMM, in some situations I do like receiving MUCH better:wub:

Oh don't get me wrong, I love to give but after I've given until she can't take any more then I want my turn too ;)

Don't always get it, but it doesn't keep me from wanting it!!!

I'll be making it when all the kids return from school. No sense in making it now, I'll just eat it all myself and turn into a cow.......
