Adam & Eve Productions bring the forest alive in their sensual adaptation of Shakespeare’s epic tale.A Midsummer Night’s Cream starts with Titania, Queen of the faeries (Nina Hartley), overseeing her faeries in a circle-train of pleasure. Too soon for their liking, Oberon the King (Evan Stone) interrupts. From there, chaos reigns.If you like long sex scenes with variety, you’ll definitely enjoy yourself. Girl-on-girl, anal, threesomes & solo acts are just a few of the scenes that will entice you. The music, “upgraded” from the normal 70’s porn sound you usually hear, adds to the scenes instead of distracting from them.The gorgeous settings & fantastic costumes made me glad to watch this DVD. However, sometimes a good thing can go sour when taken too far. We didn't care for a woman having sex with a braying donkey (obviously a man in costume, but still...). Nor did we enjoy watching Puck as a she-male masturbate; facial and chest hair paired with breasts and a vagina on the same body isn’t very appealing to me.Something my husband mentioned he was of two minds about was that the men used condoms. While he thought it was GREAT they were practicing safe sex (and hoped that message got across to audiences), he said seeing condoms in a porn was a downer to him.Check out the Special Features! The cast interview (mostly Hartley & Stone) was one of our favorite parts of the whole show.Overall, this DVD didn’t do anything for either me or my husband. There were some great parts, but the “turn-offs” overshadowed everything else for us. We also had a lot of trouble with the DVD itself. Several times we had to stop & check it, clean the machine, etc., but it just kept ‘stuttering.’ When we played it in our computers & PS2, though, it worked just fine.So what say you - are you a horny, foolish mortal? After me picking out this one (because I love the theatre and thought it would be neat) my husband said (jokingly) that I don't get to pick out our sex movies any more! It never really bothered me because I realize that back when most of these porns were made, they didn't do AIDS testing, and it ran rampant in the community. If anything, this adds a bit of "reality" to the obvious fantasy, reminding us who watch, that sex with multiple partners requires SAFETY precautions! I get a little disheartened when I see the actors not using condoms now, it just seems like common sense!Anyway, I think your review was adequate in describing the costuming and sets - they were fantastic. A quick summary:-- The film starts with a bang, five women in a circle pleasuring one another. My searches never brought it up and when I looked back month-by-month, apparently I didn't go back far enough. Way to go me for confusing everyone, eh? Sorry, all! Howard, thanks for your comments. My husband and I had a conversation about that last night, actually. He read my review and then asked if I was working for the company or for the customer. I told him that, obviously, I was reviewing items at the request of the company, but the reviews were FOR the customer, so they could make better educated choices, based on another's "real person" experience... that TooTimid wasn't going to carry items that customers weren't going to buy if they were horrible. That only wastes both the company AND the customer's time and money. At that point, he said, "Oh... great review, then!" *laugh* ...And this from my retail-guru.
