A Rant A Rave And Omg.

So I was watching the news and they brought up black friday, so I was like well I wonder how that went. Turns out customers at a Walmart that had been waiting to get into the store decided to bust down the doors themselves and get their shopping under way cause they couldn't wait. A security guard who was there on duty was just inside the doors and got trampled by the customers as they stormed the Walmart. It is sad to say that the 34 year old guard lost his life moments later at the hospital. Then I hear that at a Toys-R-Us two adult males pulled guns on each other opened fired and both were killed, luckily no one else was shot in their stupidity.

So heres what I'm so pissed about. What the hell is with these people?! Are you fucking shitting me?! An innocent guard get trampled cause a group of selfish dumb shits decide to tear the doors cause they couldn't wait and then two guys pull guns and kill one another. What the hell?! Seriously what the fuck has happened to America? I understand stores are putting stuff on sale but do we really have to act like we have no morals, no respect and act like animals? 3 people lost their lives this past friday and only because we can't take our time with our shopping. Oh and another thing the stores provoke this. They have their sales form 5 am-noon. Why not do it all day? I would like to point out to the ravaging animals of black friday that there is Cyber Monday. Works just like black friday only you do it from a computer and it's much more peaceful and non life threatening. I think we need to rethink black friday and make it safer and stores need to beef up security, like hire riot police. I remember last year (not saying this is the only one just the only one I can remember) only one person was trampled. Any ways thats my rant/rave.

P.S. I enjoyed I nice settle day on black friday with my girlfriend at the movies then ended our date with lunch at 3 Margaritas. I'm going shopping Monday from my computer.

I have to say I enjoy "Black Friday". But this year I was STUPID and went to the walmart here. I got the Xbox w/guitar hero for $199 that they had on there ad. People are nuts out there. I was glad that there was a line in the back of the walmart and we had to pay for them back there. By the time I was out of that line it was packed you couldnt move to get out of the store. (that was the only thing I got on friday)

i had to work on black friday and it does not surprise me one bit that these people would trample an employee, kill him and go about their business as if it were nothing. they treat us like we ARE nothing on a daily basis. if that happened at my work i would walk out in protest. i would NOT continue to serve the very pigs that KILLED a coworker thats for sure.

also, i've seen the footage of the incident, this was NOT a small guy that got trampled. also people were shoving the paramedics when they were trying to treat him. in the same store that this happened, a pregnant woman also got knocked over and miscarried her baby as a result.

i dont have as much sympathy for those who CHOSE to go out there, but in the retail world you CANNOT opt out of black friday, so i am really upset over the worker that was killed for nothing.

I have been on both sides for Black Friday. Up until I decided to stay home with my daughter I worked in management for Walmart. Yes people can get out of hand, but a lot of it I have noticed depends on the area that the store is in as well. We had 3 stores within about a 20 mile radius.....2 of those never had any problems....whereas 1 had problems constantly no matter what time of year it is. The one thing I like about the Walmarts in the district I was in the District Manager had 2 local police officers in each store from opening to close all of the holiday weekend. This was done for the safety of the customers and employees.

Being on the opposite side as the customer I love as well. I was out at 10pm and in line at KB Toys that was opening at midnight. Our local mall had 12 stores open and midnight. I love the way KB does it and have been going ther efor 3 years now. It is orderly and no chance of anyone getting out of hand. They allow 15 people at a time til they get up to a total of 45 people in the store. You have to work your way up and down the aisles towards the register. They do not allow you to do it any other way and as people come out they allow people to go in. Disney Store did the same thing as well.

I go out every year on Black Friday. As far as cyber monday. I dont' bother with that. I wait as a week or so after most of your companies will give free shipping or really good deals on shipping. That is why a lot of people dont' do it as what you save you might end up paying in shipping. Just a thought.

I agree with you Korn, 100%. It's hell. I refuse to go out for "deals" like that. I find enough deals during the whole year to make it worth my while to keep my ass home.

I've worked retail for over 15 yrs, and had to deal with many a Black Friday. I worked at a Jewelry counter for almost 3 yrs. Thankfully, I was in middle management and one year I had the "authority" to jump up onto the desk in our area, and yell out "You people need to step back and stop crowding the people AT the counters. There is a pregnant lady here that is getting crushed and I WILL have all of you arrested if you don't STEP BACK NOW!!! We will NOT wait on ANYONE that is being rude, physical, or threatening, so calm down and STEP THE HELL BACK!" They did. We were in downtown Austin, so this wasn't a hugely "rude" thing to do retail wise. LOL But I didn't care even if they had written me up, people were getting hurt. I also refused service to about 10 customers, and when they called management, I also called Security, and they were all escorted out the door by some REALLY BIG people! LOL

I don't think people truly realize how foolishly inconsiderate they get! No present is worth hurting someone or getting killed over. Gawd, remember the BS that happened in the 1980's with the Cabbage Patch Kids? Jeez! It's like that every year now! What a trend to set!

I will say that the conflict at that Toys R Us was a possible gang affiliated incident, however, who in their right minds go into a TOY STORE with real GUNS??? Kids are in there for crying out loud. If you're foolish enough to be in a gang, keep your gang shit with your "posse"/homies/crib/whatever!

I want to make my daughter happy, but I don't want her to think that Christmas/Yule is the time of year where you get EXACTLY what you want, when you want it, and that's what it's all about. Nope.

I'm speechless! I can't believe anyone would just push anyone! And to open the doors before it's even open!! That's call "breaking and entering" people! And the fact that the security guard almost got killed, that a pregnant lady was pushed over and lost her baby because of it and NO ONE did anything????!!!!!

I just shake my head in disgust.

Oh God, was that the 8 month pregnant lady? How horribly sad if so, I hadn't heard that she miscarried. Merry fucking Christmas indeed. People have completely forgotten what it's supposed to be about.

Whew, just looked it up and they are saying now that earlier reports that the woman miscarried were unfounded, she was only hospitalized for observation. Thank goodness.
