  1. Maybe a temporary separation would help - time alone to think things through - even just a weekend, a mini-vacation at separate locations for reflection. One of you could spend the weekend crashing at a friend's place.
  2. No matter how bad your week was, kittens can make you feel better. I volunteered at the Humane Society cat adoptions today, and the kittens totally recharged my batteries with the power of cute.
  3. There is a lot of free help for addiction; that shouldn't be a problem. The problem is that you can't "get" someone to admit that they have a problem. That's something that they have to do for themselves. Sometimes they have to hit absolute rock-bottom before they'll admit it.
  4. I don't have any knowledge on the specific addiction, but I just wanted to say that twelve-step programs are amazing. I'm in one, and it's helped me a lot. It might help your friend, too.
  5. Okay, my mistake, I perceived you as disliking the idea of anyone using them, not just yourself... I sort of felt that you thought they were a bad thing? Well, never mind, my bad.
  6. Some women bring a bottle of water into the restroom and rinse it over the toilet. Some also just stick the used one in a plastic baggie (sometimes kits come with waterproof carrying bags) and use a new one. Also, I carry a couple of regular tampons for use in public restrooms if needed. Why do you hate the idea of people using these so much? You seem upset at the idea of anyone using them, not just yourself. I like them, other people like them, what's wrong with that? :/
  7. Well, I wouldn't think less of anyone who wasn't willing to put up with the discomfort of periods when it can easily be avoided or at least reduced! Modern conveniences like, say, Tylenol go a long way towards keeping me functional, and I'm sort of confused as to why anyone wouldn't want that.
  8. But why on earth shouldn't you make it more comfortable if you can???
  9. Not ingenious? Some people find them incredibly useful, much more convenient and comfortable than regular stuff!
  10. My friends rambles on and on about how much she loves hers, how she used to hate her periods and now she doesn't care. It's pretty hilarious, actually. It amuses me. http://www.divacup.com/
  11. ladylove, If you clean them properly, they are no less risky than regular ones. Regular tampons are not sterile. Even though cotton is biodegradable, the biodegrading isn't actually so good for the water systems. It's the same as throwing food away instead of composting it. Rotting stuff in water causes a chain of bacterial blooms that eventually kill wildlife and contribute toxins to our drinking water. Also, the production of regular tampons isn't good for the environment, but sea sponge harvesting is sustainable and harmless. Brandy, the planet is capable of supporting the people who live on it, but only if we change a lot of things (more than just tampons, and more than just a few people). We certainly don't all have to go for the sponges - I've heard the cups are spectacular, and they're a very different method. regular guy, I don't eat that meat anymore, not since I found out what happens to the people and animals involved in the industry, plus of course the consumer's end of things. Ewwww. Anyway, I didn't want to start an argument or anything, just wanted to say that I love mine and would recommend them to anyone considering an alternative!
  12. Exactly! I've actually started to prefer my sponges. They're soooo soft - I don't even feel them for a second.
  13. It's really easy. If you're comfortable with your own body, it's just not a big deal. Plus, you throw away thousands and thousands fewer of them - infinitely better for the environment. Plus, it's actually better for your body. The bleach used in regular tampons is linked to cervical cancer, and the materials in them leave small lacerations in your vagina. I have heard that cloth pads are really soft and comfy, and that the cups are pretty much the greatest things ever.
  14. Yep. I rinse the sponges out between uses, and between months I will disinfect them.
  15. Has anyone else tried them? I just started using sea sponge tampons. They're so soft and comfy, and they reduce garbage and are cheaper! I also want to get some cloth pads at some point.
  16. I don't particularly like seeing a money shot in porn (possibly because 99.9% of porn is male-oriented and way too corny), BUT I do really want to have that done to me, and I love reading about it in erotic literature.
  17. Wow, necrophilia, pedophilia, and bestiality didn't even occur to me. Definitely scratch those off my list too!
  18. I can't forsee wanting to do anything with urination, scat, people other than my partner, or extreme BDSM. My kinkiest desire - I want to be dominated.
  19. Not me, and I don't want a marriage with someone who would offer me that. I want an exclusive relationship.
  20. I think you might be catastrophizing somewhat. You're telling yourself that it's the worst-case scenario when you don't fully know what's going on. Do you know for sure that she's in love with him and doesn't want to be with you anymore? You need to talk with her.
  21. I hate those early-evening naps where you "just close your eyes for a few minutes" and open them fifteen hours later when you're already late for class and haven't done the homework.
  22. You already told her that you saw him as a threat to your marriage. I think that she should respect that. If you guys are going to consider sleeping with people outside of your marriage, then you both need to be completely okay with it every single time. This doesn't sound like a good thing to me.
