  3. Oh I forgot to tell you I did tell the doctor about it and how I thought their front desk people needed to have some interpersonal training. She took notes and said she would talk to the office manager...so I'm sure that was fun. But I'm just not going to train their staff for them...
  4. SOOOOOO False.... TPBM had bought a new toy today
  5. So today I had to go to the doctor re a referral to a surgeon for my gallbladder.... I haven't been to this doctor in a year (knock on wood) and have since then changed jobs and therefore insurance carriers. Now mind you, they worked me into today's schedule to see me since I went to the ER Saturday with a gallbladder attack (I thought I was gonna die! *spoken like rosanna rosanna danna*). Well, when the receptionist finds out I've got different insurance, you would have thought the world ended and all hell broke loose. "well, it's gonna take time to verify your insurance before you see the doctor. You should have told them when you made the appointment. " to which she adds a slam down of my chart on the desk. I merely stated that I had plenty of time and was in no hurry - take your time verifying it, I'm sure it will be fine. She was not pleased.... So I got to thinking...how many times do rude people appear in our life on a day to day basis and why do we tolerate them? Why do we suffer their petty grievances - and what can we do to stop the cycle when it's presented to us? Any thoughts, ideas, ramblings????
  6. 45yovirgin, I can relate to what you're feeling and going through and I don't think you're the only one to blame for going outside the marriage to find fullfillment. Having been there myself, I now know that it takes two to have a relationship - emotionally, physically - whatever. I too have been emotionally and physically starved for years and have made some not so great decisions although I've not taken it as far as you have (but had I been able to - I would have-I was that desperate). I've reconciled my issues and now have a better relationship with my husband, but it's taken time and a lot of effort and sacrifice. I can't offer you any advice, but I just wanted you to know that there are others like you who can understand and at least listen without judgement. In the end you know you have to lie in the bed you made and I understand your need to seek others to help you get there. I hope you will continue to do so and come out the other side a more understanding and tolerant person.

  12. Are you trying to download messenger for Vista? If not, I'd try that.... From your Start menu - go to Control Panel >> Security >> Allow a program through windows firewall. Make sure Yahoo Messenger is in the Exceptions list...if not you'll need to add it. Click Add program and look for Yahoo Messenger. NOTE - if you have any other security program on your pc, it may be interferring with the windows firewall configuration. If that doesn't work - I'd be happy to investigate further for you....I'm pretty good at troubleshooting and debugging. Something else you might want to do - which won't help your problem, but will save a lot of frustration.. ....there's a well known aggravation in Vista called User Account Control. Having this setting on makes Vista ask you for permission via a pop-up box everytime you want to execute/update/etc. programs - even though you are the administrator user on the pc. There is no danger in having this control off -unless you don't trust anyone else that's going to use the computer -which I'm assuming is not the case since it's a personal pc. In any case to turn this off...from the Start menu go to Control Panel >> User Accounts and Family Security >> User accounts >> User accounts (not a typo) >>Turn User Account Control on or off and de-select the box. Let me know how this goes. I was able to download the Yahoo Messenger for Vista setup.exe file and can possibly zip it and email it to you if you want to try that way.... I'll investigate too and see if I see any message boards where people have reported the same issues.... Good luck
