Ewww Stress!

Since we all know that stress can be a mood killer, as well as an actuall killer (Scary huh?), I thought this article could be helpful! I kinda like it and it's not full of religious advice or medical advice, just simple things that we can all do that we can all do on a daily basis!

I'm a runner at heart but ever since the dreaded knee injury, I have not been able to truly run. *sigh* so it is an elliptical, an occassional unadvised jog on the treadmill, and weights, weights, weights. The BEST stress reliver!

Agreed! I started up again with weight training and It works wonders also.

sex! that relieves a lot of my stress too... hrmm. i love my man :rolleyes:

I agree completely-----I've been working out with weights for years.

I love being in shape and weightlifting is definitely a stress reliever for me.

(Oh yes......Sex helps too ! )

Good suggestions, thanks for the post Suzy, but I couldn't resist adding these 30 ways to "Handle Stress" that I got in an email (many years ago). Just reading this list can help reduce stress ;) And yes, some are just wrong, but still funny. The moral of this post for handling stress - HUMOR! And I NEED to take some of my own advice, WAY too much stress right now!

HOW TO HANDLE STRESS

1. Jam 39 tiny marshmallows up your nose and try to sneeze them out.

2. Use you MasterCard to pay your Visa

3. Pop some popcorn without putting the lid on.

4. When someone says, "Have a nice day", them you have other plans.

5. Find out what a frog in blender really looks like.

6. Forget the diet center and send yourself a candy-gram.

7. Make a list of things to do that you've already done.

8. Dance naked in front of your pets.

9. Put your toddler's clothing on backwards and send him off to pre-school as if nothing was wrong.

10. Retaliate for tax woes by filling out your tax forms with Roman numerals.

11. Tattoo "Out to Lunch" on your forehead.

12. Tape pictures of you boss on watermelons and launch them from high places.

13. Leaf through a National Geographic and draw underwear on the natives.

14. Go shopping. Buy everything. Sweat in it. Return it the next day.

15. Buy a subscription to Sleezoid Weekly and send it to your boss' wife.

16. Pay your electric bill in pennies.

17. Drive to work in reverse.

18. Relax by mentally reflecting on your favorite episode of "The Flintstones" during an important finance meeting.

19. Sit naked on a shelled hard-boiled egg.

20. Refresh yourself: Put your tongue on a cold steel guard rail.

21. Tell your boss to blow out his mule and let him figure it out.

22. Polish your care with car wax.

23. Read the dictionary upside down and look for secret messages.

24. Start a nasty rumor and see if you recognize it when it comes back to you.

25. Bill your doctor for the time spent in his waiting room.

26. Braid the hairs in each nostril.

27. Write a short story using alphabet soup.

28. Lie on your back eating celery...using your navel as a salt dipper.

29. Star at people through the tines of a fork and pretend they're in jail.

30. Make up a language and ask people for directions.

I LOVED these !!

It's too bad more people don't handle stress with humor.

I tend to be a very positive, happy person (even when I'm stressed)

I never want to "drag" other people down.

Unfortunately, there are lots of people who thrive on being miserable and take great pleasure in

making other people miserable.
