Newbie tomatosoup Posted March 12, 2008 Newbie Report Share Posted March 12, 2008 hello everyone,my boyfriend and i are both virgins..which might sound unusual for an 18 year old girl and a 19 year old guy in this day and age but, whatever. anyway, we're pretty much figuring out everything together, which has been fun. we're probably going to have sex for the first time really soon and we've been talking about it a lot. we figure it might be a good idea to invest in some lube, but there's basically a million different kinds, and i was wondering if anyone had any advice on what kind to use?thanksss. Members ToyQueen
Welcome to TooTimid! If you will look at the top of the page, there is a tab titled sex education. There is a great article on lubes. Then you can choose the kind of lube you think might be right for you. I personally recommend the TooTimid Pleasure Lube. It is non-greasy, doesn't stain, and has no glycerin, so I'm not going to get a yeast infection from it. Good luck!
Members justinlove
Darlin you are 18 and he is 19, you are both gonna be wet as hell and my guess is no lube will be necessary unless you plan to try anal the first time, which would really surprise me. If you try to suck his cock or give him a hand job and it's a bit dry, use your spit, most guys think that's hot but if you don't think he will, you can do it really discreetly. I'm excited for you! Have fun!

Have fun!I respecfully have to disagree here. Young or old, everyone sometimes needs extra help with lubrication now and again. Being young doesn't guarantee that she will be wet enough. Especially when using condoms. The "lubricated" kind even need help sometimes cuz the lubrication on those wears off. Remember, use WATER-BASED lubes with latex condoms!!! Spit is NOT good lube at all, no matter what porn tells you. Spit dries things out. Not great lube at all. Astroglide and the TooTimid Pleasure Gel are 2 of my favorite lubes. They're water-based, easy to use and to clean up, and they don't stain or leave sticky residues. WET & Hot Stuff make GREAT flavored lubes too, which can add more fun to the mix. Members Amylynn920
I have to agree with Tyger. When it was my first time I was so scared, even though I wanted to, I would have appreciated lube. There are times when we all need a little help no matter how much we are wanting it, both male and female. I would start with a basic water based, or a simple flavored one to make it fun.Saliva doesn't make a good lube it dries out and doesn't produce enough slip. I think we all have tried it in a pinch but when you have a choice it's a better idea to just invest in a good lube.
Members jesso
Ditto on Tyger and Aiden's comments. You'd be surprised how many women I have to re-educate on ALL the applications Lube can be helpful with. Just because you get wet doesn't mean you don't need lube. I am an Astroglide girl myself. I love water based lubes in general.

Members nosleepnmesa
I am going to have to fully agree with Tyger she is absolutely correct. Spit drys things out, and being this is going to be your first time, I would recommend lube as well regardless. Your right there are a bunch of lubes to choose from, I personally LOVE the Tootimids lube, it is non-staining, non-greasy just a extremely great lube, that last a long time and goes a long way. Astroglide is another great lube as well. Look around and see what you feel would be best for you. Wishing you the best!!
Members Beavis
DO NOT USE SPIT!!! One of my ex's was giving me a hand job and she used spit. At first I was like that is sexy but in 30 seconds I had to get her to stop. Why? It dried out and I was getting friction burn. Listen to iha, pinky44, Ginger J, Aiden, Tyger and Toy Queen buy a lubricant. I my self prefer Astroglide, for intercourse. For solo flights I use Albolne, it lasts the whole time and then some plus once it gets warmed up it becomes extremely slick. But please DO NOT USE SPIT!!! Members Zildjian
I don't have a lot of experience with lubes except for astroglide and ky personal lubricant, but I was recently introduced to this German product called "pjur". My partner said "here try this, it's like velvet." I found it to be amazing stuff. Hard to find locally, but he mail orders it. I am going to order some for myself. It was sooo lovely.Oh, here it is on www.tootimid.com. It's called Eros Original Bodyglide and apparently it's silicone but I hear they have a water based one. Tyger
I've tried Doc Johnson's silicone based lube, and their anal lube, which is water based (but has the consistency of Vaseline), and BOTH are great products, so I have little doubt that their water-based lube will disappoint you.
