Members ladylove
Women who lop their hair short are no longer interested in bedroom action, say researchers, who claim that deliberately reducing ones attractiveness can sometimes be a way of repelling mens interest.London, Dec 6 : Women who lop their hair short are no longer interested in bedroom action, say researchers, who claim that 'deliberately reducing one's attractiveness' can sometimes be a way of repelling men's interest.Initially, the claim was made by sex therapist and former comedian Pamela Stephenson, 59, who said that ladies who cut their hair are deliberately making themselves less sexy to blokes. However, now the theory has got scientific backing after experts claimed that the links between long hair and sex go back to caveman times, reports the Daily Star.Dr Pam Spurr, a relationships expert, said: "The woman who no longer wants sex uses a haircut to show she's reclaiming power in the bedroom."For women, hair is a reflection of the person, of her moods and her self-esteem."Relationship psychologist Anjula Mutanda added: "Cave paintings celebrated long-haired women - the longer the hair the more fertile and, therefore, desirable she was."But body language and behaviour expert Judy James disagrees, saying: "The only thing it symbolises these days is the shutting off of childhood. In terms of sex, I would argue it has the opposite effect."What are your thoughts???
Members square
My wife cut her hair shortish (not crew-cut) a couple of summers ago, and she was extra horny (and so was I) that year.It depends somewhat on the girl and the particular cut, but I think a lot of girls look pretty with short hair. Also, as the one who has to occassionally waste a block of time pulling fist-fulls of long tangled hair out of brutally clogged tub and bathroom sink drains, I view shorter hair as being beneficial. Members mystofpric
BS i hacked my hair and i looked so much hotter, i got lot sof sex, maybe I should hack it again......By the way I had a pixie cut, so it was super short, but my lank thin hair pulled it of awesomely. Iw as a lot more confident because for once in my life i KNEW my hair looked good plus, as it grew out i could totally make it into a flock of seagulls do in teh shower. Yeah I make soap mohawks. Members chloegirl
I think that old theory is way off. Being able to let go of an old, outdated look can be very liberating making you feel more playful and sexy. Let's face it.....after a certain age most women just look better and younger without long hair dragging her features down. Bottom line is though that you need to take the time to fix yourself up a little whether your hair is long or short....that effort makes you feel and look better and that affects the vibes you put out. Members ToyQueen
I keep my hair short because it's easier to care for, and because I think I look better. And it has certainly not diminished my sex drive.....
Guest eminatic
i'd also have to disagree because i have LONG hair and ZERO sex drive.kinda sounds like it was perpetuated by those music videos and movies where the girl gets mad and runs into their room to immediately chop off their hair and/or break the mirror. Members FOS
I think it's all subjective, and all dependent upon the person. I don't think I believe in the 'theory' that the articale espouses.I'm a big fan of the long hair, most of the time, but that doesn't mean that a shorter cut can't be sexy. Although I have to say I feel sexier with my longish hair, and will leave it long (until it makes me look old and washed up) than I did with my shortish hair. However, my sex drive never diminish in my 30's during my first sexual awakening when my hair was a shortish. With 3 little kids and not a lot of time I was insatiable then. I think sexy is all in your head and how you present yourself, but some times our unconscious actions do give us away.

(and blonde but that's another story!) My husband likes it better long too. I go through phases where I think I need to grow up and cut it and then others where I want to grow it and be more provocative... I am going back and forth about cutting it now just because it is REALLY damaged and gets so tangly....Those of you who have seen my pics know that I have BIG hair LOL

Members mystofpric
This line of thinking is definitely do to the sexual identity icons, how many (straight) chicks in porn do you see with above shoulder hair? How often does barbie get short hair? Any of your dollies growing up? Short hair on women was scene up until probably the 20 (though it was probably gaining momentum before them) as either a disgrace or as a religious momement (nuns as late as teh elizabethian age shaved their heads to remove an outlet for vanity, and make them cleaner and closer to god). Cutting a woman's hair has been used through out history and across many cultures as a way of removing a woman's feminitity and womanhood. In prison camps women would have tehir head shaved to degrade them. The Roaring 20s brought new liberation to women's hair it was a time of rebellion and bootlegs. During the height of teh depression though such vogue things fell to the wayside and short hair was simply more practical as care was easier and as women moved into the factories replacing their husbands who were off at war, it was safer. The fifties swung either way with long hair needed for beehives but bobs were still considered stylish through the 60s when long hair again gained real strength with the hippie age and then stayed long through the 80s and 90s as big hair then grunge (even the guys got in on teh act!) became the way to be again. Even during these recent eras short hair was considered to be "counter-culture" with more "punks" and then "goths" adopting a shorter do. Now though we have models with pixie cuts and actresses always looking for the edge on hollywood fashion. The new millenium is truly and balencing point for hair.Men tend to see long hair as sexy as it is taught to them early on that girls have long hair and boys have short. So a woman with long healthy hair would have an edge on feminity (to a man) than a woman with short hair.

Members Mikayla1
I am not sure how I missed this post!Well, as I have had more children, my hair has gotten shorter. In my Avatar picture my hair is long, blonde and curly. I had that hair for many, many years. I got a lot of attention - and had a lot of sex. Last year I chopped it shoulder length. Kept it blonde. I still get lots of attention (and lots of sex). Last week I had it cut into an inverted bob and dyed it - DARK - almost black. I have gotten hit on more at the gym and even at the grocery store. My hubby Loves it - and says it is super hot -- he also feels like he is having sex with someone else cause it is so different.I am not sure if there is a correlation between hair length and sexual appeal - but, I do know that is many cultures, long hair is a sign of feminitity and sex appeal. I also think that if a woman exudes confidence - no matter what her hair length - that comes through and is sexually appealing!

Members synirr
My hair was at its shortest when I had that threesome...My outward appearance has never been a good indicator of my desire to get laid though, I go with looks I think are attractive and am never really trying to catch any eyes. Also just a note: I have always had dark hair, warn in various styles, shorter when the kids were small and longer when I was single and now, I'm hit on all the time, wedding ring or not. Blonds don't always have more fun, us dark haired women have it going on too......... OH! I just thought of an example of a short haired girl with attitude that's sexy as anything - Haley Berry

Members synirr
It may be that that's just the natural length of your hair... everyone's grows to a certain length before the hair is old and falls out on its own to be replaced by another.
