Hello. This morning my partner and i had sex and the worst thing has happend, the condom has split. I dont use the pill because I have bad side effects and so im worrying. we were only 15-20 mins into sex when we realised the split and had checked it a few mins earlier and it was fine. However obviously not being on the pill my first reaction was to go to the toilet and then to look for the morning after pill. well we're having the weekend together in the middle of no where because i work 8.30am till 7pm - here's the problem all the pharmecies here are local and closed because its sunday and im working as is he tomorrow with no slot to get the pill, so im looking for a uk online seller but i cant find a thing that will arrive within the 3 day limit so if anyone could help id really appreciate it! thanks :( Iso

First off take a deep breath and exhale.

I assume you have a planned parenthood nearby your home?

Call them, leave them a message, calmly explain the situation, and ask for advice on how you can get the morning after pill whithin the time slot.

Sometimes they have emergency clinics or urgent care that you can go to and get the morning after pill.

Call your local hospital and explain the situation, perhaps they can offer advice.

Do you get a lunch break where you can leave the premises? if so, maybe during lunch you could sneak out and grab it.

Would it be possible to leave work early to go get the pill?

Could you arrive a bit later in the morning and offer to stay later to make up for the work?

Is your boss the kind that would understand if you explained the situation?

I have never taken the morning after pill, is it possible for your SO to go pick it up for you?

Could he sneak out during lunch and pick it up for you?

some pharmacies, like rite aid open at 8 am, perhaps a doctor could call in an emergency script?

Best of luck to you,

Let us know how it goes.

Hey, if you can find a pharmacy or someplace open on sunday, thats awsome!

Sometimes its hard to think objectivly when the situation affects you.

If you do wind up getting it tomorrow on your lunch hour, just call the place your going early in the morning, tell them you will pick it up until your break.

This way they know you don't have a lot of time to screw around and you can get in and get out, and your pills should be ready.

Best of luck!

I agree.....take a DEEP BREATH!

Now, if I read the post correctly, it states that you were 15-20 minutes into sex and the condom SPLIT - did he cum first? If so, then yes, definitely hurry - if not, I wouldn't worry QUITE so much. Yes, pre-cum has sperm - everyone knows - but, your chances are a little lower. Still do what you are doing - get the morning after pill - but at least take some solice in the fact that he didn't dump his whole load in there! Also, check where you are in your cycle. It isn't always the best way to family plan, but it might give you a little bit of temporary relief when you realize that you are no where near ovulation!

Also, I would suggest that in the future you use a spermididal jelly, a diaphram or some secondary form of BC so that this rat race for the MAP doesn't happen! Have you tried the shots or the transdermal BC patches? Ask about those!

Good luck!

I hate to disagree with Mikayla,

But I'm afraid on this one I will disagree.

DO NOT GET THE SHOT OR THE TRANSDERMAL PATCH!!

The shot is prostregren based and will cause serious problems with your cycle.

I currently take the shot because it is safe for nursing moms.

A normal menstral cycle for me now is 6 weeks of constant bleeding.

Prostregen also decreases sex drive and causes depression.

The transdermal patch causes strokes and death and blood clots in the leg and has been linked to deep vein thrombosis.

It is also in the process of being discontinued and recalled.

There are things like the neuva ring, wich is hormone based, but is fit around the cervix like a diaphram.

There are lower dose pills that don't cause so many side effects, some of them are yazz, and there is one kind that you take for 3 months at a time and you only have 4 periods a year.

You can also go with an IUD, a small T shaped piece of plastic that has a low dose of hormones that prevents pregnancy.

I whole heartedly agree with finding another method as well as the condom, but just, not the shot or the patch.

I am afraid that I am indeed ignorant about the side-affects of the patch or the shot - as I have never used them. I assumed this would be some viable option for her to discuss with her Gyne. It is good to have more information about these methods!

Thanks for all the advice guys, i cant take the pill and i do worry because of the one form of contraceptive. I know i should really use more than one and i would if i could, anyway my guy whilst watching me go quiet and search the web for any sign of next day delivery emergency pills decided that he wasnt going to allow me to worry for that long and drove me to various pharmecies (very far away!) until we found an open one! expensive but worth it! I know i was unlikely to be pregnant because i was just off my period and he didnt cum but better safe than sorry... one good thing did come of it though I feel that little bit closer to my guy and im pleased to know he cared that much about me worrying that he made such an effort to find a place to go, as well as escorting me in and checking i wasnt feeling too ill from the side effects of taking the pill! I will look into other contraceptive methods and again thanks so much for the support, it really did stop me worrying so much really appreciated :)
