Members Mikayla1
Oh, one more thing. While we are passing out the articles - let me also tell you that while the news has been rampant with statistics lately - including that 75% of the American Population will be obese by 2015 (yes it is scary) - I have also read that overweight people recover faster and have a better chance of full recovery after a heart attack. I also read recently that thin people under a certain BMI have higher incidences of certain cancers, and are more susceptible to generlized ills such as colds and flus. There will ALWAYS be some statistic or issue that proves that obese people are at risk - they ARE at risk. However, as is evidenced by the 38 year old jogger and health fanatic who died of a heart attack while running down Lake Michigan 2 weeks ago - healthy living and lifestyle are not guarantees that you will live forever - or that you have a happy and long life!Yes, our society is rampant with obesity, especially childhood obesity in minoritiesm, however, our society is also rampant with media images malformations that make our young people feel inadequate at a size 10- then they diet, fail, diet again, fail and soon by the time they are 20 their metabolism is revolting against them and they can't diet to save their life (which is at risk because of Bulemic issues they resorted to in desperation!)Once again, no one is saying that you HAVE to love a more curvy woman - but pointing out articles about fat and cancer and whatever else only makes those people who already KNOW about these statistics feel unworthy and scared. Believe me, people who need to loose weight know it and are scared enough already!
Members Deveninny
Hmmm, your attracted to people with lesser IQ's? Odd, but yet it's your preference, as mine is a smaller built woman. As far as someone that is heavier that I would date, take for instance people you graduated with. Quite a few of the people I graduated with became overweight, sadly they were as you stated "active" and had become quite sedentary. Although I'm not one to tell you or anyone who has a weight issue what to do or how to do it. I at one time weighed 250lbs when my sons mom was pregnant, something about gaining weight with her throughout her pregnancy. With my sons birth, I began a strict diet and became much more physically active again. I never said it was easy to lose the weight, but your right....it's my choice to lose the weight. With the way this topic has progressed with my input, I'm going to bow out and leave ya'll to the original post. Keith
Members Mikayla1
Actually, what I said was "they must have an IQ that is AT LEAST half of mine!"I would have said higher than, or at least as high as, but honestly, that is hard to find! My hubby (God Love Him) bows to my intellect and he is in no way a stupid man! I also feel like you think that I think being heavy is OK and "normal" - I understand that it isn't. Good for you for loosing the weight, I also chose to loose my weight - and many people choose to be heavy. It HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH the weight debate, it is about owning your preferences in body type - that is all!
Members jesso
Wow! Lots going on in this thread. Just to comment on the maelstrom: Living in Cali can be quite intimidating with weight size. Barbie and Ken and oh yes Skipper they're all out here. But thats really not real women. This past fourth there was a load of crap in the entertainment gossip about Nicole Ritchie and Mischa Barton sending out invitations letting women invited know that if they were over 100 lbs, don't botter coming. So pathetic. I read an article stating that the average size of women in general in 14. Some more food for thought; Marilyn Monroe was a size 14 and that woman was incredible. To get back on subject para mi -In general, Brunettes over blondes and green eyes to boot. However I love Hazel eyes too. Men: The taller the better. I'm 5'2 so anything 6' and up really. I had a beau 6'4 - Damn that man was hot. Not too muscular, in fact it's really just arms I get wet for. And of course a great ass. I love a great ass. Women: I don't love large breasts. Between a B and C is just about perfect. I really tend to look at facial features for the most part. Eyes, cheekbones, lips, hair type. The more unique a woman looks, the more attractive. Members Mike_d
I am curious if someone would tell a person they are too skinny or would it be just a perk? Just as some people worry about the obese, there are many people of all ages, genders and races that suffer from eating disorders. Do people who find skinny women (size 6 and under) more desireable than "normal" or plus size ladies ever think, she has just gone too far? I think that daily when I see college age women all over this campus who look like they are gonna blow away in a stiff breeze. Do I think that all women need to be a size 12? no, there are some that are framed to be slender. But I feel that we are putting undue pressure on our women to be an unrealistic concept. It's not just Hollywood either, porn stars do it too.So for all you folks who like the skinny mini's, how far is too far? Kate BosworthLindsay LohanCalista FlockhartI say any way you slice it, all of them could use a cheese burger or boca burger for you veggitarians out there. Just feed them, there is no way someone should be under 100 lbs if they are an adult. We see people in that state of starvation on the news from africa and say "how horrible" but line up in droves to see Superman Returns or make sure to catch re-runs of ally mcbeil or what ever.....don't we? Members alixorn83
(Off topic but to add: I am 5"2 and a size 9-10. My ma tuaght me that that was a good thing and I think so to)I like what I like to call a 'dancer's body' on a guy. Like a ballet dancer (think CATS the musical) or a gymnast (think Magnús Scheving) ...I love gymnastic guys O.o... and guys with long black hair...The sad thing is it runs in my family to really love the more guy-ish gay guys *la sigh* aBut more than anything I notice on a guy is his eyes..Eyes that are deep and handsome (blue and golden brown are my favorites)I may be werid, but I love pictures of guys with their tops off but not totally naked..I guess becuase my imagination is so much better than any picture (or the fact that I have never had 'real' sex.. Really big 'parts' actually are a turn off for me, I guess I am a more realistic gal
Members unbelievable
As a woman who is thin (when not pregnant) by most people's standards, I had a really hard time when I had a knee injury and gained weight. I felt like I was a slob (even though I wasn't) I felt lazy (even though I was TOLD not to exercise) - in short, I felt depressed. What I realized is that we are ALL a cupcake, a ho-ho, or an accident away from gaining weight. As I struggled to get the weight off, I also realized HOW FUCKING HARD it is to LOOSE WEIGHT as opposed to maintaining weight. I am sure I will struggle after baby comes, I know it will be hard, and THANK GOD my hubby still finds me sexy and attractive with added weight. He married a woman of size 10, and I got much larger but he NEVER made me feel fat or disgusting. I always say that no matter what your weight - EVERY WOMAN is beautiful. Every woman has a right to that sexuality, and every woman should be confident with what she has.Thank you Mikayla, for this post. Not sure what else to say...I'm rather emotional about this whole thread...seems that this may be a BODY IMAGE issue rather than a BODY issue...hmmm? Members komana
In a guy, the "soccer type" really does it for me: not too tall, good legs, athletic looking. Great eyes or great lips are awsome too. I don't get turned on at all by guys who are really built. Ladies should be curvy! I agree with the majority of the posters here I'm just over 5' tall, but you can't get an hourglass figure without having some junk in the trunk. However, I think the sexiest woman alive is my sister, who is 5'4", and fluctuates because of a medical condition between a size 8 and a size 14. Whatever she wears she makes it suit her body style (nothing so tight that it looks like she attempted to pour herself into it and some spilled out), and whatever she wears, SHE WEARS! That's probably my biggest turn on in a woman, that go-get-'em, I look terrific in this outfit sort of panache. Other than the not liking that supermodel thin look, anyone wearing a great outfit well will turn my head (guy or girl, actually).
