Members Mikayla1 Posted September 27, 2007 Members Report Share Posted September 27, 2007 Hey all...I watched a very interesting movie on Lifetime of all places....it was a 2002 James Spader movie called 'The Secretary.' This movie is about a lawyer, Spader, who hires a secretary, Maggie Gylenhaul (spelling error?) and Maggie is into cutting herself and Spader is into being a DOM. As they move along, he cultivates a relationship with her where he spanks,humiliates, etc. her and one day he is about to spank her and he cums on her back. She thinks it is great, he severs the relationship and fires her.She eventually comes back to him, professing her love for him and he tests her by telling her to sit at a desk with her feet planted and her palms down on the top until he returns. She does so, for days and days and days....peeing and doing whatever else as she sat there. Finally, he comes and gets her, runs her a bath, washes her up, feeds her, and they have sex.I find this movie sooooo interesting because it shows a relationship between a DOM and a sub in a real, real way. The DOM cares for the sub, nurtures her (or him) and really does pamper her when not in the DOMINANT role. This is soooo accurate. People always assume that DOM / sub means that the DOM is always punishing his sub, has no respect for her and is totally abusive. This is so not true. DOMS love their subs and treat them well for their obedience.If anyone is interested in seeing a sort of snapshot of a DOM / sub relationship, rent this movie!! You probably should rent it and see what they edited out possibly. I thought Spader and Gyllenhaal did an outstanding job and were so believable. Gyllenhaal was so Spicy!!! The penultimate scene, where Maggie sits in his office chair in her ex-fiance's mom's wedding dress peeing herself in order to obey her DOM is so hot I can hardly stand it!The (very short) scene after that where she is bound to a tree in order to consummate the marriage makes my knees weak. But the best scene by far is the final one... where she drops a dead cockroach on their bed as he leaves the house to go to work. She tends to favor this type of movie also. It will be in my collection one day soon. Although it doesn't delve into BDSM relationships on a deeper level it is still a great beginner guide to what it could be like. It's almost like a vanilla w/extra toppings sort of film!!! If anyone is interested in seeing a sort of snapshot of a DOM / sub relationship, rent this movie!!Based on the reccomendation on this site and another I frequent, I finally rented and watched this movie - I LOVED it! Definitely for those who understand the BDSM lifestyle or for those who might be kink curious. A very positive spin on what most consider taboo.But the best scene by far is the final one... where she drops a dead cockroach on their bed as he leaves the house to go to work. The smile on her face makes it apparent that she knows that the sub is the one who is REALLY in control...This is totally the truth, isn't it? I just love the expressions on the female sub's face, because so often I feel like I know exactly what she's feeling! I identify with this movie so much...Actually, I first heard about it from my lover, and I went out to rent it just because he'd asked if I'd ever seen it, and during a costume party about a month later, I surprised him by dressing up in heels and a secretary sort out outfit - and then told him I'd watched that movie he recommended a while ago. If you made it through 1 hour then had sex instead of finishing then it was still very inspirational just not in the same way for you two. When I go to the doctor in a few days I'll stop by the store where I saw this movie a while back for sale at a discounted price.
