My sister tells me about these types of guys all the time. What I don't get is why you just don't call them on it? Just stop dancing with him and tell him; "Hey you little insecure fucker, your mother might tolerate this bullshit from you but I sure as hell won't. Now start acting like a real person or get the hell out of my face!" You can sprinkle on more or remove some of the swearing to fit the situation, but it will definitely get the job done. Most of the time guys that are "assholes" just are super insecure and will retreat if you just call them on it.

That's kind of interesting; because I'm a guy and I feel the same way... But the other way around; the plot makes me think of someone and that makes the whole thing much more interesting. Yeah, I'd be worried about #1 and #3 as well! That's why I keep control of all the recordings of myself. Can't even trust your loved one I don't think you should worry about #2 though. These are not the Darwin Awards though! The Darwin Awards include people that accidentally kill or mutilate themselves in a way that stops them from having children again. I remember hearing a story about a guy that was talking to his buddy about the fantastic shielding power of a kevlar vest. Again and again he was saying that it could stop any thing, a bullet from a handgun, a rifle-shot... It could even stop a knife! So they decided to test the theory. Unfortunately, he put the vest on him and THEN they tried stabbing him. If I recall correctly, it punctured his lung and he died of internal bleeding.

Classic Ego. I'm glad it's been such a long time ago I saw this type of "I'm better than you because my suffering is bigger than yours!"-type of mentality. Just be glad that your head is not stuck up your ass.

It's sound like you need to go on vacation. Just take a couple of days off, get a way and completely ignore all the stresses for a little while. When you get back you'll feel a lot better. I felt the same way a couple of weeks ago. I didn't even feel like I had the time to get away, but finally a friend of mine twisted my arm (thank god) and we went to Barcelona for a weekend. When I came back I had a completely fresh mind; all the problems that were there before were still there, they just seemed to matter less, and I wasn't as certain that they were insurmountable.

16hr shift! That's a long day. Is that even legal? I know it's no consolation; but remember that you're there because you choose to be there.
