  1. No, there was not much of a smell. It seemed to dissipate over time with one or two washings, but it was never overwhelming, even directly out of the package. The lube made it slick, but not flipping out of your hands like a wet bar of soap. I didn't find it difficult to maneuver too much, my personal feelings are that the jelly-like material seems to allow a deeper grip that allows the surface to stay slippery, but since you can dent your fingers into it, that adds enough traction to be able to hold tight for the ride. Glad you all liked the review. Next Time I'll have to find a glass item to review!!
  2. Love Stick I was looking for something that had some versatility anally and vaginally. I liked the look of the 7.5" Love Stick because in the picture it seemed to have 2 distinct sizes: one end tapered, and the other end more solid. In this case, the picture does not tell the full story- but in a good way! Although both ends are indeed different sizes, they also have different shapes. The middle measures at about 1.25” and tapers to a narrow neck (about 0.75”) then curves upwards slightly to the 1” tip. This slender 1.75” long neck fits nice and snug at the rectal opening, while the inserted tip ends nicely at the P-spot on the men-folk, while for us ladies, the tip positions itself for some nice rectal pressure on the back wall of the vagina. Because it then tapers up in thickness the more you insert, it was a delightful torture of stretching and releasing my anus with gentle thrusting. The other end of the Love Stick is much fatter with a rounder more bulbous shape. Although there is a bend to this shape curving ever-so nicely against the G-spot I couldn’t feel a diameter change as much as I could with the other end, because it is roughly the same size as the middle. Because it is made of a flexible PVC it is a porous material, and feels a bit tacky until freshly cleaned and lubed. This toy needs to be cleaned well, but luckily it is very easily done. When Mr. SP and I first lubed up the Love Stick, I was surprised how easily this dildo inserted. It is a very flexible toy, and I was expecting penetration to be a challenge, but it wasn’t. Once it was inside, Mr. SP teased me with some gentle twisting motions, which caused the thick bulbous tip to brush back and forth against my G-spot. What a great sensation! That nice twisting motion definitely put new meaning to the term “screwing!” With the added gentle vibration of a bullet, (sold separately) the Love Stick dildo offered a springy resistance to my PC muscles, and added a wonderful pressure inside just where I needed it most!
  3. Cyberskin Renew Having collected a few cyberskin toys over the last few years, I was noticing they were starting to get a little dry, some were sticky feeling, and others just didn’t have that soft realistic “skin-like” feel to them any more. Because cyberskin toys are porous they need to be kept clean and dry. Keeping them in their original packaging, or a plastic bag are the best way to protect them. If treated properly, these toys can last a lifetime without losing their realistic feel. Before storage, clean well with an antibacterial soap, then make sure they are completely dry (a cotton cloth, or a hair dryer on a low setting works well if you don’t want anyone spying them in the dish rack air drying by the sink). Once dry it is recommended to sprinkle them with dusting powder. I am always hesitant to put any sort of talcum powder where it could come in contact with the vagina, as there is a link between ovarian cancer and talcum powder. However, the Cyberskin Renew is made with corn starch which has no association with ovarian cancer. The down side is, that like any corn based product, it is perishable and only good for 12 months once opened. It comes in a 1.2 oz bottle (thats 36 grams dry weight for all you metric lovers), that has a small hole in the top. A light squeeze and a fine mist of powder breezes out. I was fearful of a huge dust cloud engulfing my bedroom, but was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the powder dissipated, and most clung to my toys and with a gentle rub and stayed coating the toys. Once I put it in a plastic sandwich baggie I gave a few gentle squirts to allow for additional coating protection while in storage, then sealed it up for later play. I was a little concerned with how this was going to work when I was ready to play again, because the fine powder coated the toy so throughly. Was it going to be like paste when I added water to clean it before my next use? Was it going to remain as any type of residue? NOPE! It was fantastic, washing off easily and leaving my toys soft and new feeling all over again. If you have spent the extra money to purchase a cyberskin toy, it is definitely worth the extra few bucks to keep it protected with Cyberskin Renew.
  4. There is really nothing to get "used to". Your provider will insert it into the uterus, and the string comes out of the cervix and hangs down into the vagina. Depending on how short it is cut makes a difference on what your partner will or won't feel. But is is a string, which means it is flexible and can move around somewhat in the vagina. Basically the string is a filament (like thin fishing line), and it does occationally "poke" your partner if it is pointing in the wrong direction. Usually a change in the down stroke, or in the worst case scenario, you stop, insert a finger and coil it back up behind the cervix, then continue where you left off. In the last 4 years its probably happened a few dozen times to Mr. SP, but never often enough to make me (or him) regret it as a birth control method. And I cannot recall any of my patients ever wanting it removed for that specific reason. As Leslieanne mentioned, cutting it too short is something medical practitioners are very aware of, and make sure we don't do. because the Mirena has a hormone added (progesterone), it can sometimes cause irregular spotting or bleeding for the first few months. Most women by the first year are having scant bleeding, if they have any at all. Glad it seems to be working for you. Its one of my favorite methods for myself and my patients!
  5. There are a lot of factors that contribute to ED. His high blood pressure alone could cause blood vessel issues that make it more difficult to maintain an erection. If he is on blood pressure medication that is usually another large contributer to erectile dysfunction. On a more psychological level, if you are worried about "embarrassing him" and he is worried about disappointing you, there can be a huge performance issue impacting this as well. Communication with him is a big key. If he is coming quickly after penetration it may not be ED, it may be something else. And if he is wanting to pleasure you first, it may not be as noticible for you if the actual intercourse is shorter. Remember, sexual relations with your spouse can be a much wider range than just poking it in and thrusting. Sometimes mutual masterbation or pleasuring each other without any focus on penetration can go a long way to decreasing performance anxiety, and still bring you closer together as a couple. Having a conversation with his MD is a great place to start, as they will be able to see if his meds can be changed or if there are other physical problems that can be addressed. And PLEASE remember that viagra is NOT a miracle pill. Some doctors are very good at working with ED, and others leave a lot to be desired and are just pill pushers. If his MD does not seem to have a lot of experience he can consider seeing a urologist (they are the male equivalent of the female's gynecologist.) ED is a multifaceted issue, and is not likely going to be answered on a forum, or by using creams and cock rings. These tools and toys may help, but I have found in my experience that the more you as a couple talk about what is bothering you, worrying you, and what fears you are both struggling not to tell the other one, the faster you can progress in your relationship.
  6. P-Spot Pleaser The soft skin of this toy is phthalate and latex free, and being waterproof makes clean up so easy. A very important plus in my book, when dealing with anal toys. We are always looking for something that will be a fun prostate toy for Mr. SP. I like that this toy had a nubby surface that would add an extra texture to the sensitive under-skin beneath his penis. The Shaft is 1” in diameter at its widest, but does narrow in the middle to allow a nice fit without making the anal sphincter feel like it is being held open too far. Its 2.5” length is the perfect distance from the sensitive P-spot. The vibrations are intense for only 2 AAA batteries, but it is a very quiet toy. The turn dial on the base allows you to adjust slowly to multiple speeds to enhance your experience. There was only one problem with it...the lowest speed is amazingly intense!! So Mr. SP and I lubed up the toy with our favorite new anal lube, and the toy slipped into his rectum with ease. The P-spot Pleaser fit snugly against his prostate and the nubby tongue at the base cupped his perineum. With the slight downward curve, I was able to hold the base of the toy and gently press my thumb into the nubby extension, adding even more pressure to this sensitive area. I was then able to gently turn the dial to start the vibrations on its lowest setting...which was so fast and intense Mr. SP jumped and shot the toy right out!! Not quite across the room but it was quite funny. It took us a few tries to be able to turn it on without him jumping from the intense contact directly against the P-spot. Once he was able to adjust to the vibrations, he was able to increase his sensations by gently squeezing his anal muscles and PC muscles. Shortly after that I added to the mix a combination of hand job and blow job. It was a relaxing session of alternating between my ministrations and his own squeezing and pulsing and stopping briefly when he was too close to the edge, so as to prolong the enjoyment. He tells me the orgasm was quite intense when he finally came. The next session a few days later was more solo play. He wanted to see if without any penile stimulation at all, he would be able to come. Sure enough this toy was able to meet demand. Again for the faint of heart, this toy may be a bit intense at first. But from the frequency in which it comes out of our drawer, I’d say it was well worth the purchase.
  7. A Private O for YOU Looking for a bullet with no wires, and a little less “egg shape”? My Private O is a good choice. Its a waterproof hard plastic, so it is very easy to clean, and is a handy addition to any shower, bath, or hot tub. The blue etching around its gentle curves are a softer Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR- like the rubber found on toothbrush handles), which adds a soft ‘grip’ to your skin so the plastic sheath doesn’t slide too fast. It has a one touch push button on the base for easy on/off one-speed-only functioning. It is surprisingly strong for only one AAA battery. I found that the indented rings near the tip offered a great place to hold it with my thumb and finger as I started to gently guide the “O” around my nipples, stomach and further down to my clit. The slightly pointed tip targeted that pleasure point with amazing accuracy. Sliding my fingers down more on the shaft allowed me to have the indented rings cup and surround my clit in an eye crossing vibration of the entire clit: top, bottom, sides...wow! Although it is very small, only .75" diameter and 3" long, the slightly bulbous tip allowed me to gently insert the tip to just past the opening of my vagina causing the muscle to then close slightly on the narrower indented neck. This area, the (pubococcygeal) PC muscle got a good workout squeezing, and relaxing, and it offered a nice subtle sensation as I slowly pulled the bullet in and out, like a gently stretching speed bump. What a great way to strengthen the PC muscle without feeling as if you are being stretched apart. For a quick O, or just some tender PC exercises, I really liked the My Private O. It is very private in a shower, as the vibration sounds were difficult to hear over the shower noise. But in a quite room, it was a little louder, but not excessively so...just turn on the radio and enjoy!!
  8. Pandora Get ready to open a Pandora's Box of Mythical proportions! Pandora is a small toy (3.75” long, 0.75” at its thickest) with a nice gentle vibration. It can go in any “box” but we found pandora to be more pleasurable as an anal toy. Mr. SP gave this toy two thumbs (and a large stiffy to emphasize) “Way UP!” Batteries were included (3- LR44 watch batteries), so a quick scrub with antibacterial soap and we were ready to play. The soft silicone surface is very easy to clean. Remember no silicone lubricants or it will melt this toy. Because silicone is porous good hygiene, and general safety rules dictate, that you clean this toy with antibacterial cleaner throughly before using vaginally if you have used it for anal play. Shaped like a small gaffing hook, the base is a rocker shape, that fits your hands nicely while inserting, but curves deliciously up into the perineum (the t’aint spot: you know, “T’aint ass, T’aint pussy/dick”). The pressure on this delicate skin with full penetration of the toy adds a masterful addition to the pleasure. Mr. SP found that by tightening his anal muscles, the rocker bottom pulled up and pressed into the muscles under his penis, and that the combination of this massage, and the internal tickling from the penetrated shaft and hook, allowed him to cum with no penile stimulation at all. Of course, combined with a BJ and a hand job, Pandora added unbelievable variety for solo or mutual play. The tip of this little treasure hooks over to allow for naughty exploration of your G-spot or P-spot. And women, if you use this toy anally, even though we don’t have a P-spot, the hook is still amazing. And if your man penetrates you vaginally when it is inserted in your anus, he will feel the hook tickle HIM through your walls! The shaft of this soft blue toy bulges out slightly in the middle to add a nice full feeling to the rectum or vagina, but has a long slender area down to the base, so both rectal sphincters are able to close tightly around the toy to prevent that feeling that it is going to pop out and shoot across the room. Mr. SP found this secure feeling helpful when I climbed on top to ride out the remains of his hard on. It never felt like it was going to fall out, and added a whole new spin on the sensations he had experienced with our last play sessions without vaginal penetration. When I used it during another session for solo anal play, I liked that with the addition of a bullet for my clit, I could feel a gentle squeeze and pulse inside my rectum without feeling like I was being rendered. I tend to like my anal toys small and this fit the bill nicely. The vibrations were unbelievable quiet. You almost have to hold it right up to your ear to hear it. The only down side of this toy is the 7-function vibration pattern button. It is a one button deal for on/off, and scrolling through all the various speeds and functions. Good for ease of finding and reaching but once you cum, you have to keep pressing what seems like a million times to shut it off. Other than that, I have nothing bad to say about this toy. Mr. SP said I need to get my own, because he has claimed it as his! By far his most favorite purchase!!
  9. Climax Bursts Anal Lubricant We needed to find a nice anal lube, something thick that would stay where we put it, but that was slick enough to gently ease toys into an orifice that does not have any natural ability to lubricate itself. Having fallen in love with Climax Bursts toy cleaner, we decided to give this product a try. I love the design of this bottle, as its round top is easily pulled up (even with slippery fingers) and despite the thickness of this lube, squirted out easily without flooding out in big blobs. The anonymity of the bottle was nice too. Although Climax Bursts was written in large bold letters, anal lubricant was in a very small font so as not to draw undue attention to your bottle if accidently left in public view. The tiny micro-bursts are vitamin E pellets that dissolve immediately as you rub the lube in place. I loved the clean almost non-existent smell, and there was no sticky residue on my fingers, toys or various and sundry body parts. Not only was this a long lasting lube, but for anal play made an incredibly silky ride. I was even impressed at how well it worked for vaginal lubrication also. Although thicker than I prefer for vaginal intercourse, it was not a tacky, sticky, clumpy mess, and stayed very slippery with friction in both the vagina and anus. Mr. SP was impressed with how long it stayed slippery as we were reviewing one our our new anal toys. Long lasting, top quality lube. Climax Bursts gets my vote for best products.
  10. confidentiality rights of minors vary from state to state. Some states will allow confidential treatment of minors for birthcontrol, pregnancy, abortion, etc without parental consent, and others do not. Know your state laws. Planned parenthood, and public health centers are good resources for this information. Regardless of the parents beliefs, some laws may trump these "parental rights" if the child under 18 is seeking confidential treatment. (again this varies depending on the individual state laws.)
  11. 6 Function Vibrating Dildo This was the most realistic toy I have received to date. Normally I’m not a big fan of “anatomically correct” detailed toys. But I have to say, this soft jellylike penis dildo was freekin’ cool! It stands about 10.5” from battery base to tip, but the soft “skin” covers 6.5” for penetration and tapers slightly from 1.5” to 1.25” in diameter, this vibe has an amazing feel of real skin. Not just on the outside, but the whole feel of the toy is realistic. I popped in 3 AA batteries in the base. It was a little tricky to get the battery door off, but it snapped back on easy enough once the batteries were in. When I started to put some lube on the shaft of this penis, I was shocked at how much it felt like the real deal. It was tender and flexible if you pressed in, with resistance of the underlying plastic and metal vibe underneath the pink cyber-like shell. As you moved up the shaft to the realistic circumcised tip, there was no longer any resistance underneath, and just like my man, the tip would flex over my thumb as I massaged the lubricant onto the tip of the penis. It was a bit creepy, actually, how very real this toy felt. Below the base of this wondertoy, is a hard plastic base that is about 4” long. This plastic is a bit flimsy and unfortunately was the down side to this toy. Because of the fragile nature of this thin plastic, the toy made an awful lot of noise, as it vibrated quite loudly. There was a soft push button on the side of this toy to turn it on, off, and range through its 6X functions that offer a multiple array of speeds, and patterns to your vibe experience. I found that the realistic nature of the feel of this toy made it a wonderfully soft erotic afternoon. It did not have extremely strong vibes when deeply inserted, but I alternated with sliding the toy over my clit, like a hot dog in a bun, and then pushing it deep inside when I was tightening up for the O, only to repeat the pattern again after a few deep thrusts, to rebuild the clitoral climax. It was certainly strong enough to buzz me on to some amazing orgasms, and because of the flexible tip, the insertion was not as abrupt as some of my other more rigid toys. I really liked this toy a lot, but had a very difficult time getting over the loudness of it. I was glad no one was home, this is not a toy to be kept secret.
  12. Icicles Vibrating Mini Twister I love glass toys. The non-porous nature of glass means easy clean up, hypo-allergenic, and VERSATILE! You can add temperature dynamics to your play: pop it in the freezer, or run it under cold or hot water to mix things up a bit. The Icicle was an intriguing little toy to me. The one thing I hate about glass toys is no vibrations. I’m a girl that can’t ignore her clit and get off. Gotta have a vibe. But I really like the fullness and slick, smooth sensation of glass moving in, out and around inside me. The icicle has a 5 3/4” straight slender shaft that has a raised pink bead spiraling from the base to just below the tip, that curves at a right angle like a finger trying to reach the “come here” spot. Although it is only a 1” diameter and did not give me a full stretch feeling, I loved the way the spirals tickled and bumped as the ridges moved in and out. What is unique to this glass number, is that the end has a loop that perfectly fits the micro bullet that is included. The vibrations are mild, gentle waves that vibrate down the shaft. The bullet also has a light on it, that illuminates the glass and gives a peek inside the mystical folds as it slides in and out with your lovers guidance. The easy to use remote control plugs into the micro-bullet and offers a 10X variety of settings: Mild pulses, scaling up and down frequencies, steady buzzes, and many others. It is very quiet, but the flashing lights can detract from this toy being completely stealth. For me it did not seem like a very strong vibration, but inspiration being what it is, removing the bullet from its glass hoop and applying directly to the clit will change the dynamics to toe curling strength. What I did discover is that although the vibrations coming through the glass were not strong enough for me vaginally, when I used this toy anally it was a different story. Gently turning the toy side to side in a twisting motion caused the inner curve to do amazing things inside. Guys don’t be fooled by the candy pink nature of this toy...it WILL find your prostate and offer an amazing experience. For the price I can’t think of a better toy to please both him and her. And if you don’t find it an amazing experience like I did, you can always turn it on and light up the beautiful glass icicle and hang it from your Christmas Tree.
  13. Libido Lift with L-Arginine I have always been fascinated with how the body works, and the physiological process that makes the body physically ready for sex. That is why this product appealed to me so much. This lube contains L-Arginine, which is a natural vasodilator. (a vaso-what?) A vasodilator causes the blood vessels in your body to open up, causing more blood to flow into that area. With more blood flow to the area, there is more engorgement of the tissue (more swelling, heat, and sensation) and they body lubricates itself more naturally in the presence of more blood flow. Add to that a long lasting lube as a medium to spread on this wonder-ingredient and you’ve got yourself a hit product! Ok first off, what I didn’t notice was a quick “burn” or “pulse”. It spread on just like any other lube. The lube itself is a moderate thickness. By that I mean it squirts out easily like a thin liquid, but it won’t go running through your fingers while you are trying to apply it. It is not thick like hair gel, but seems to stay nicely wherever you put it, toy, pussy, penis, whatever. It is very slippery but tends to get a tacky feeling on your skin relatively quickly, so I suggest having a warm wet rag close by to wipe fingers before play, and for clean up afterwards. The nice thing I found is that as foreplay progressed (and the next day with solo play) I could feel an acceleration of the warmth and fullness of my labia as the blood flow began to increase. I also noticed more of my own natural lubrication. The lube itself, combined with good-old-Mother-Nature created a long lasting slide to pleasure. It was not the sudden rush I had been expecting, but like love, takes time to be nurtured. Mr. SP didn’t notice any specific changes to his anatomy, but we fully intend to continue to experiment to see if he notices any difference with self play or with more concentration of the lube on him, rather than just second hand during penetration. I did, however, notice that he did seem extra hard and thick! It was a good ride overall.
  14. Ooohhh! I like the tube idea. Its like toothpaste for your twat!
  15. Scorpion Stinger Well this prostate massager was a big hit when Mr. SP and I opened our review box. Because I don’t have a prostate, Mr. Stunt Penis had to wrangle this ‘stinger’. So I ‘dick-tated” his opinions of the little beast. First off the Scorpions’ stinger is an ingenious blend of a bullet that has individual vertebrae coming off the tip, ending in a bulbous phallic shape at the end of its 5.5” length. It is a slender 1/2 inch diameter covered with a thick waterproof plastic. It is very flexible, and bends at each individual knuckle allowing a unique fit to any rectum or prostate location. Unlike many other prostate massagers, once you bend this stingers spine it stays in position. The cockring and testicle harness is made of super stretchy cyberskin and easily slides over cock and balls, with a little lube, for a nice snug fit. Mr. SP found that it had an extremely STRONG vibe, even on the lower settings. Solo play was exciting because the 10X controller has a variety of vibrations that mix up the pleasure by pulsing erratically, buzzing strongly then slowing down the speed, and many other combinations. By himself he found it very comfortable and easy to insert. With partnered play I found it difficult to try to figure out the various vibration patterns when trying to choose which speed to give him, but I’m sure with more time I could get it figured out. I liked that when I bent it, it stayed in that position. It made it much easier when I was slowly sliding it in and out over his rectal opening teasing him before gently guiding it towards his prostate. With so many patterns of vibrations, and so many options with the flexibility of the stinger, we both agree that it would take quite a long time to get bored with this toy! OK, so here’s a unique twist. I was writing this review and Mr. SP curves the scorpion tail into an L-shape and tucks it between my legs. So here I sit with a variety of pulses vibrating through my pants from my vagina, across my clit, and up over my pubic bone. WOW! Give me just a minute and I’ll finish this review... Well, I guess we can put “versatile” on this review. Just remember that if you girls are going to try this toy vaginally, clean it well first as it is an anal toy primarily. And just because we don’t have a prostate does not mean that we can’t remove the figure 8 harness and use the stinger for our own ass! Ok back to the review. Good points are strong, versatile, and stable flexibility that stays where you put it. Down side is that it is also very loud. Clean up is a breeze as the cyber harness is removable and the stinger is easy to clean with antibacterial wipes or soap and water as long as you don’t submerge the bullet and cord (and definitely not the controller).
  16. First of all viagra does NOT help w/ sex drive...it only helps keep blood flowing the the penis to keep it engorged enough to have sex. I can't say for sure which drug this GYN was talking about, but some women do respond to estrogen with testosterone therapy in increasing libido. Testosterone has not been FDA approved for libido, nor has any clinical trials shown any definitive results, but many women do find it helpful, and there is even a commercial drug (Estratest) that is often prescribed for this purpose. Also some women do respond to viagra for increasing blood flow to the genitals and increasing the physiological response to sex (lubrication) but not the drive itself. But again, its not FDA approved for women. If you start looking at other androgen hormones DHEA, DHEA-S, not to mention a host of herbal therapies, there are many other options. In general this topic has not been researched well. However, market demand being what it is, there is likely to be many other options on the horizon. America is capitalization at its best. Keep in mind though, that a lot of "sexual dysfunction" comes down to relationships, communication, and personal expectations. Yes, age does bring with it ovarian and adrenal decline (both organs produce testosterone) as well as other problems, or medications that can effect libido...but that does not mean that you cannot find a way to overcome all obstacles. I could go on and on about the "medicalization" of sexual function, but I won't bore you all to tears. Suffice it to say that drugs can make a difference for some issues. But popping a pill is not going to do anything if you and your partner can't communicate and realign sexual expectations as you both age.
  17. The hood should cover over the clitoris to protect the nerve endings of the clitoris. The "hairpin" shape should be pointing down towards your vaginal opening. It follows the contour of the muscles as they arch around the pubic bone. Hope that helps.
  18. I think it is an excellent conversation to have with your doctor...kudos to your doc for being comfortable enough to bring it up!! My midwife was commenting on how I have been able to strengthen my PC muscles since my last visit. (vaginally delivering a 9lbs + baby will stretch things a bit.) She wanted to know if I had been doing Kegals. I told her that I was a reviewer for a sex toy website. She thought that was great and said "well, keep it up its working."
  19. if she has had irregular periods her whole life, then her current problems are not related to perimenopause. My guess (without being able to see her or examine her) would be PCOS or a thyroid issue. There are, of course, several other issues that can cause irregular periods (including eating disorders, excessive excercise, stress, etc). Have her start keeping a record of her periods and an other symptoms in her history prior to her GYN visit. As far as the libido, depending on what is her initial diagnosis, can certainly play a role in her sex drive. Testing for hormones are important, but NOT hormone testing to see if she is in menopause...hormone testing to see if her thyroid is off, if her testosterone levels are off, etc. Hormone testing for menopause is unreliable and quite honestly doesn't help very much with most diagnoses. The FSH and estrogen hormones that are abnormal when a woman is menopausal, are also off when she is anovulatory ( not ovulating and skipping a cycle for whatever reason), however, as soon as she DOES ovulate (every 3-6 months in your wifes case) her hormone levels would be right back to normal levels again. There are some preliminary studies looking at other predictors of menopause, but currently inhibin and other hormones have not been mainstreamed yet, and are still in clinical trials...but things are looking hopeful for the future. Bottom line, IMHO, I don't think her problem is perimenopause, its too long standing. There is something else at play here, and further investigation is definitely in order.
  20. The pill is most certainly a culprit. There are many different combinations of pills out there, and some are harder on libido than others. Basically any pill with estrogen taken by mouth (pills vs. vaginal rings, etc) has to clear through the liver to get to the blood stream. (This goes true for hormone replacement in menopause as well). When estrogen goes through the liver, it increases something called SHBG (Sex hormone binding globulin) and SHBG is responsible for binding testosterone (yes girls, we have testosterone too! and it is directly responsible for our sex drive). If all the free floating testosterone is bound up guess what...no sex drive. Some pills are worse than others. So if you are not wanting another type of birth control method, ask your doctor or midwife to prescribe another brand that may have less effect on your androgens. Otherwise there are lots of methods to choose from that don't effect your libido. Also, many women do notice an increase in sex drive once they have stopped nursing. Different hormones involved in that one, but the end result is the same. Some of the other theories about inexperience, exhaustion, etc may also have played a role. Glad you are finding the time and energy to connect with your husband. ENJOY!!
  21. I've always wanted to do it in a pouring rainstorm on a summer day in the middle of a grassy field! (in front of a bonfire at night was one for the the longest time--thanks Mr. SP for helping with that one!) almost made it in a monorail in Disney, but had to settle for a BJ. Everyone has such great ideas and fantasies...some brought back sweet sweet memories! Ahhhhhh.
  22. In addition to the above advice of "going back to his doc", he may also want to look at the emotional side of things. There is a misconception that a pill (viagra, cialis, levitra, etc) will cure him immediately. This is not the case. There are a variety of causes for ED, and psychological factors are a BIG part. The meds he is on for his BP absolutely can be a factor, as well as the drinking, smoking, and other things every one has commented on. However, if he is discouraged with his lack of response to the erection meds, or is worried about having a heart attack, or just plain has low self esteem because of his health issues, that can make a HUGE impact on his ability to get it up and keep it up. First question: Does he get spontaneous erections? (morning wood or in the middle of the night?) If so then his problem may not be 100% biological. His Doc may or may not have a lot of experience with ED. If he is not getting any response, he may wish to talk w/ a urologist. Good luck.
  23. I think that harboring feelings of mortification over what our children may think, perpetuates the "wrongness" of playing with sex toys, that many here are struggling so hard to overcome with our "open and honest posts." If you truly believe that masturbation and sex toys are a healthy part of our sexual nature, then why not express those same feelings to your children in age appropriate contexts?? If they walked in on you having sex, would you go into a long discussion about fornication? or give them age appropriate tidbits about love, adult together time, or some such thing? I don't hide my toys from my kids, nor do I flaunt them in front of them. But if they do find the toys I would certainly talk to them about masturbation (which we already talked about when they were about 5) and adult toys. And you know what?? if my kids want to get a masturbation sleeve when they hit their sexual curiosity preteen-age I'll help them pick it out. (or let their dad help them if they are more comfortable). I have even helped a neighbor look into a small first time vibe for her teenage daughters. Wouldn't it be better to encourage our youth to explore their own sexuality on their own terms (alone with batteries), than to try to help them overcome their guilt, fear, and embarrassment years later through sex talk forums or professional counseling??
  24. Glad this worked out so well for you. What I found helpful with a FMF with Mr. SP and I is a "No Penetration Rule". That way I didn't feel there was any infidelity. Strange, I know, when some other girl has her lips around my husbands cock, but that one rule was something I could live with. Only I was aloud to ride him. Another hint...lots of antibacterial cleaner handy to clean toys between girls. A swing comes in handy too...
