At first there was some discomfort (rash, itch, etc...) but that was just an adjustment period... now it's part of my regular grooming routine. Why do I shave? Because it is SOOOOOOO appreciated! The initial shaving, almost feels "cold" down there, and a bit wierd. But after that, it's all maintainance. and not bad, just kind of a PITA at times. Although, I feel really good about myself down there! I don't recommend soap, but a good, thick cream, and a really really good razor, like the Venus Divine (I have the vibrating one~go figure, and it's great!!) and if you need too, after-care cream for bumps. I only have to shave every other day my choice of razor is the Gillette Fusion Power or the Venus Divine and Envi Shave Gel. I follow up with Noxzemz Bikini Area Analgesic. I use witch hazel after every bath as it does not sting as much as an alcohol base astrigent does. When my boyfriend wants to shave me I break out the electric razor...Several years back I bought an battery operated razor called the Seiko Clean Cut and this delivers a very nice very close dry shavethat you use with powder no water needed. You can shave the entire pubic area and not worry about nicks or cuts or pinches. He does it while I am laying back on the bed and he checks for stubble with his tongue. We use the edible powder with ours. For me there is nothing hotter than my man helping me maintain my bikini area. I return the favor for him. Now I use my Braun epilady on the top and bikini area and only shave the lips and anus. With my Braun, I only tough that up once a week and its smooth for a week, where with shaving, I've got thick, fast growing hair so I have to shave that daily for smooth upkeep.One tip I got early on that really did work - Dove Deoderant. Using dove deoderant on a freshly shaved pussy helps the itching and healing. Warning - if you plan on oral sex after, don't put the deoderant on your lips and warn your partner. The taste of deoderant is not good.The other tip - if you can stand it, go for the waxing or epilady devices. (although if you are going to start using an epi-type product, I suggest you wax then use the epi for maintenance. Just rub some on after shaving to prevent/reduce bumps, pain, itching, etc. It's actually a trick from my doctor for shaving my armpits because I have such sensitive skin, but I've come to depend on it for shaving down there as well.
